New poster campaign
The Theatre Safety Committee has launched a new poster campaign, and would like to get a poster on every stage door notice board in the country. The poster aims to highlight the importance of safety in the theatre, and emphasises the serious accident rate. The poster is free thanks to funding from the Theatrical Management Association (TMA) and the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT).
To get your free poster and raise awareness within your society, please email Steph at NODA.

The Railway Children
A superb musical adaptation of E Nesbit’s classic story is available from Samuel French.
Julian Woolford and Richard John’s musical brings a masterful emotional depth to this rite of passage story, developing from youthful playfulness to adult responsibilities and passions.
Originally produced at Sevenoaks Playhouse, the show has already had many productions by companies including NODA members CODS and WOADS. It has also been produced by the Musical Theatre Dept at Arts Ed School and Bermuda Music and Dramatic Society.
The show has 30 named singing or speaking roles and can be played by a combination of children and adults, or by all adult or all children casts. There are many opportunities for doubling, reducing the total cast size if necessary. The show is orchestrated for 6 players.
The Original Cast Album is available on iTunes, JAY Records and Amazon, and Perusal materials are available from Samuel French.
Julian Woolford and Richard John also run workshops for companies producing the show. Lots of information is available at www.woolfordandjohn.com
If your company has previously produced Honk, Just So, Annie, Oliver or The Secret Garden, or is just looking for something fresh and new, then consider The Railway Children.
