Our 12 courses cover all aspects of theatre and you can also try something different at the evening sessions and social events throughout the week. Every year, NODA welcomes new, as well as returning students and offers a stimulating, challenging and fun-filled week of learning on campus at Loughborough University.

Dance groups – be part of Change 4 Life
All of us who already belong to a amateur theatre society, already know how beneficial performing on stage is to our health and fitness, and so much more fun than going to a gym!
Change4Life is part of an NHS media campaign designed to encourage adults and children to eat healthily and move more with the intention of reducing the incidence of obesity. It is currently focussing on dance as an enjoyable form of exercise and has a section on its website encouraging people to try different dance steps.
Change4Life is a very high profile government initiative and this is an excellent opportunity for you to market your society and encourage new members to join.
If you would like to advertise your groups’ activities on the Change4Life website, you need to go to the Partners and Supporters section of the website http://dance.change4life.com , register as a Supporter and complete a Change4Life Activity Appointment form.
In order for your group’s activities to be branded with the Change4Life logo, you need to agree to various conditions. However in return, you become part of a well-funded marketing health promotion campaign with a large potential audience.

NCA publishes General Election Advocacy Toolkit
There is going to be a General Election very soon and candidates will be looking at the concerns and opinions expressed by their local constituents. This is a good time to be lobbying your local politicians about their Arts Manifesto and NCA have produced, what they call, an Advocacy Toolkit which includes guidance on what you need to do and a template letter for you to complete and send to your local candidates.
Contacting local politicians can make a real difference, especially during election time, so please put pen to paper for the sake of the arts. To view the Advocacy Toolkit click here

Licensing Act consultation
In response to pressure from performing arts groups and societies, DCMS is currently running a consultation on the Licensing Act 2003. The proposal is to exclude the provision of musical instruments from the definition of entertainment facilities, and clarify that entertainment facilities are not separately licensable, if they are used solely for the provision of incidental music.
The consultation can be viewed here. NCA's response can be read here .
